The Rtec Instruments 500°C High Temperature Chamber is a versatile tribology testing solution for researchers and engineers. It is designed for those who need to characterize friction, wear, and surface mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. Operating from room temperature up to 500°C, the chamber is constructed from high-temperature alloys. As a result, negligible thermal drift and excellent repeatability are ensured across all test conditions.

Compatible with multiple MFT tribometer modules — including rotary pin-on-disc, linear reciprocating, block-on-ring up to 6,000 RPM, fretting up to 300 Hz, and upper rotation configurations — the 500°C chamber delivers a comprehensive high-temperature tribology solution on a single platform. Furthermore, the safe closed-wall chamber design with inert gas compatibility protects samples and indenter tips from oxidation. This ensures reliable and repeatable test results. Combined with the MFT-5000’s patented in-line 3D optical profilometer, wear volume and surface topography are measured automatically in real time without removing the sample. This feature is a critical advantage for high-temperature tribology research.
